The MH58W is a 5.8 metre by 3.4 metre mirror house of about 18 square metres, holding a proper bedroom, a full bathroom with a rain shower and a real kitchen. It is the model for a genuinely tight block where the interior still has to read as a house rather than a studio.

About this model
What it is
The MH58W is the smallest model in our wide mirror house line and the one that gets the most room out of the least ground. It matches the short 5.8 metre length of the narrow studio but runs the full 3.4 metre width instead of 2.25 metres, and that extra width is what lets an 18 square metre footprint hold a proper bedroom, a full bathroom with a rain shower and a real kitchen, where a narrow cabin of the same length would only take a studio and a galley.
How it is built
The facade is the range's one way reflective mirror glass, so the building picks up the vineyard, the bush or the sky behind it. The structure is a galvanised steel frame with EPS insulated walls and roof, waterproof treatment and an integrated water channel, over a steel floor structure on 18 mm fireproof board finished in wooden vinyl.
Glazing is aluminium alloy framed and full height with a glazed corner, and the entry is a fireproof aluminium glass door at 900 by 2000 mm. It arrives as a finished building with the bathroom, kitchen, furniture pack, electrical fit-out, lighting, water supply and drainage complete, and it sleeps two.
Delivery and freight
At 3.4 metres it is wider than a shipping container, so it ships as one out of gauge module on a 40ft flat rack (an open shipping platform used for cargo too wide to fit inside a container, which is what out of gauge means) and we deliver worldwide. The short footprint keeps both freight and site works down.
In Australia it is trucked in and craned onto a prepared slab or screw pile footings (steel posts wound into the ground instead of pouring a slab), which is the practical difference on a tight suburban block where a longer module simply will not swing in past the fence line. Frequently asked questions
Why choose this over the narrow 5.8 metre studio?
Same length, different width. The narrow studio is 2.25 metres wide and gives about 12 square metres in an open plan. This one runs 3.4 metres wide for about 18 square metres, which is enough to separate a bedroom from the living space and to fit a real kitchen and a rain shower bathroom. The trade-off is freight: the wide unit needs a flat rack and an over-dimension permit.
Do I need council approval?
Yes, in almost all cases. An 18 square metre building with a bed and a bathroom is habitable, so most councils require a development application or a complying development certificate depending on your zone. We do not lodge for you and we never guarantee approval. We do supply the structural, glazing, insulation and electrical documentation your certifier will ask to see.
Will it fit on a tight suburban block?
That is what it is for. The 5.8 metre length is the shortest in the wide range, which makes the crane swing and the setback maths far easier than a longer module. You still need truck access to the frontage, a firm crane pad and a clear swing path with no powerlines overhead. Send us a site plan and boundary photos and we will confirm before you order.
What is included?
The unit arrives finished: insulation, internal linings, the mirror glass facade, the aluminium glass entry door and full-height glazing, a full bathroom with toilet, rain shower, cabinet wash basin, mirror, rack and paper holder, a kitchen with cabinet and wash sink, and a furniture pack of wardrobe, queen bed, air conditioner, chair and table. Electrical, lighting, exhaust fan, sockets, water supply and drainage are fitted. Footings, site works and connections are separate.
How does it connect to services?
It is delivered with the distribution board, circuits, plumbing and drainage run to connection points. A licensed electrician and a licensed plumber make the final connections to mains power, water and sewer, or to solar, batteries, tanks and an on-site wastewater system on an off-grid block. Those trades, and any council plumbing approvals, are arranged locally and are not part of the unit.
Can it be specified for bushfire or cyclone conditions?
Yes, if we know before production. Send your BAL rating (the bushfire attack level, a rating of how much bushfire risk your block faces) and wind region with the enquiry. A higher BAL rating changes glazing, seals, screening and external fixings, and cyclone regions change tie-down and bracing. These are built into the module at the factory, so a late bushfire assessment usually means a delay rather than a quick change.
What foundations are required?
A prepared concrete slab or screw pile footings, level and set out to the drawings we supply. Screw piles are popular on sloping and rural blocks because they need minimal excavation, while a slab is often what a certifier prefers for a permanent dwelling. A local engineer signs off the footing design against your soil classification (the site test that grades how much your ground swells and shrinks with moisture) and wind region.
What warranty applies?
The written quote confirms warranty duration, covered components, exclusions, remedies and provider details. Appliances and fittings carry their own manufacturer warranties. Damage from incorrect footings, unapproved site modifications or unlicensed connections is excluded. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law apply in addition to the factory guarantee.
