About this model

What it is

The PL226B is a complete, finished bathroom in a single craned in unit. That mix of finish and toughness is what makes it useful in Australia. It works as an ensuite alongside a granny flat or cabin, as accommodation amenities on a remote block, station or workforce camp, and as a better than average amenity for events, wineries and venues.

How it is built

A galvanised steel frame, epoxy treated and acrylic painted, holds EPS insulated wall panels behind a dark grey timber grain pressed aluminium exterior. The floor is an 18 mm magnesium concrete composite that resists water, rot and insects, topped with 2 mm timber pattern vinyl, and the roof is 3 mm epoxy painted steel with glass wool insulation under a marble look ceiling.

Inside it is fully fitted: a chrome rain shower behind a frosted glass sliding door and fixed panel, a soft close pan, a porcelain vanity with a chrome mixer, a mirror storage unit, LED downlights and power points pre wired to a switchboard carrying the RCM mark (the regulatory compliance mark that shows electrical gear is approved for sale in Australia), with sewer and hot and cold water connections already installed. An optional hot water service is offered in 20 L gas, 80 L or 125 L.

Delivery and freight

It ships worldwide, arrives by truck and is set down by crane truck, tilt tray or forklift onto a prepared slab, footings or screw piles (steel posts wound into the ground instead of pouring a slab) at about 750 kg. Your licensed plumber connects water and sewer and your licensed electrician terminates the supply.

  1. 1

    Tell us the block

Send the model, your suburb or postcode and what the block is like. Access, slope and crane room change the price more than anything else.

A written quote covering the unit, freight to your address, and what is and is not included.

  3. 3

    We start your build

We lock in your design with you and then we coordinate with our builders to begin production.

  4. 4

Frequently asked questions

Is it a full bathroom or only a shower?

It is a full bathroom. You get a rain shower behind a frosted glass sliding door, a soft close pan and a porcelain vanity with a chrome mixer and mirror storage unit, all finished, waterproofed and plumbed in one unit. There is nothing to line, tile or fit out once it is on the ground.

Can I use it as an ensuite for a granny flat or cabin?

That is one of the most common uses. It sits beside a cabin, studio or granny flat and connects to the same water, sewer and power. Because it becomes a fixed wet area, your council will usually want it shown on the plumbing and building approval for the block, so raise it with them at the same time as the main structure.

Do I need council approval?

In most cases yes. Connecting a shower and toilet to sewer, septic or mains power is plumbing and building work, and requirements differ between councils and states. Check with your local council and a licensed plumber before you order. We provide dimensions, service connection details and drawings for your certifier. Approval is not something we can guarantee.

How is it delivered and what access do I need?

It ships worldwide by sea, then travels by road. At about 750 kg it is placed by crane truck, tilt tray or forklift, so the truck needs a clear approach and space to lift. Lifting lugs and forklift pockets make the set down quick. Tell us about gates, slopes, soft ground and overhead wires when you enquire.

What hot water service should I choose?

It depends on the use. A 20 L gas unit suits a single shower on a block with gas available. An 80 L electric unit suits steady daily use, and the 125 L option suits camps or venues where several people shower in a row. We quote the unit with your order and your licensed plumber, or gas fitter, connects it on site.

What site preparation do I need?

A level, prepared base: a concrete slab, footings or screw piles chosen for your soil and wind region. Water, sewer or septic and power should be run to the connection wall before delivery day. Wet areas need falls and drainage handled correctly, so have your licensed plumber involved before the unit is set down.

What is included and what is quoted separately?

Included are the shower, screen, pan, vanity, mixer, mirror unit, lighting, power points, wall, floor and ceiling linings, and the plumbing and electrical rough in to a switchboard. Hot water service, freight, crane hire, footings, site works and the licensed plumbing and electrical connections on site are quoted separately.

What warranty applies?

Warranty terms are confirmed in writing with your quote and order documents, with the structure covered separately from the fitted tapware, shower fittings and electrical items. Consumables and damage caused by incorrect installation are excluded. Keep the compliance certificates from your licensed plumber and electrician, as service claims usually rely on them.
