About this model

What it is

The MD115D is where the container width range becomes a genuine two bedroom home, and the full 11,500 mm of length is what makes that possible without stacking floors. The plan is symmetrical on purpose: a private bedroom at each end, with the bathroom, kitchen and open living area grouped in the centre.

Putting the sleeping rooms at opposite ends is what gives this model its two strongest uses. For a family, or two couples travelling together, each end is a real retreat with the shared spaces acting as a buffer between them. For an operator, the same split makes a clean dual key rental where each bedroom can be let or occupied independently while sharing the kitchen and living core, which works well for farm stays, worker accommodation and coastal holiday lets.

How it is built

Full height glazing runs the length of the home and the living end opens onto a deck. The exterior is a genuine choice rather than a colour swatch: a clean white composite shell reads bright and neutral, while a dark finish with brass trim glazing suits a more premium or hospitality led site.

Delivery and freight

Length aside, it behaves like the rest of the container width range at the wharf, holding the 2,250 mm width so it loads inside a standard container and avoids the flat rack freight premium (a flat rack is an open shipping platform used for cargo too wide to fit inside a container). It ships fully built to be craned onto a prepared base. Factory quote available.

Send the model, your suburb or postcode and what the block is like. Access, slope and crane room change the price more than anything else.

Frequently asked questions

Is it really a two bedroom home?

Yes. The floorplan places a separate walled bedroom at each end of the 11,500 mm unit, with the bathroom, kitchen and open living area between them, so it sleeps four with two private sleeping ends rather than a bed in the corner of a studio. There is one bathroom, shared, in the centre of the plan.

Does it still fit inside a shipping container?

Yes. Like the rest of the container width range it is 2,250 mm wide and loads inside the box, where the clear internal width is about 2,340 mm, rather than riding an open flat rack. It travels at standard container freight rates despite its length, which keeps the landed cost predictable.

Can it be used as a dual key rental?

The layout suits it, with a bedroom at each end sharing a central kitchen and living core. Whether you can let it that way is a planning and licensing question for your council and, for short stay, sometimes your state government as well. Check local short stay rules and any body corporate restrictions before you commit.

Will council approve it?

That is a decision for your council or private certifier. It is built to order to NCC Class 1a requirements, with compliance documentation supplied, covering structure, electrical and plumbing. Secondary dwelling rules, minimum site area and floor area caps vary widely between councils, so confirm the controls for your zone before ordering. We cannot promise approval.

What is the difference between the white and dark finishes?

Only the exterior look. Both are the same two bedroom home with the same layout, glazing and internal fit out. The white composite shell reads bright and neutral in a suburban backyard, while the dark finish with brass trim glazing suits a hospitality or resort setting. Choose at quote stage, because it is applied in the factory.

What access and footing do I need?

A reinforced concrete slab or screw piles set out to the bolt pattern drawings, plus a firm truck path for an 11.5 m load, a level crane pad and clear air space over the drop zone. Long units are the hardest to get down a narrow driveway, so send site photographs and a plan before delivery is booked.

How long from order to delivery?

Production typically runs for around 20-30 working days once the specification is settled, and sea freight to an Australian port typically takes around 20-30 transit days, including customs clearance, quarantine inspection and the road leg. Firm dates are confirmed in writing with your order. Allow extra time if council approval is still in progress.

What warranty comes with it?

Warranty duration, covered components, exclusions and remedies are confirmed in your quote and order documents, with claims handled through Future Modular Homes. Cover assumes the home has been set on the specified footing and connected by licensed Australian trades, so keep the compliance documentation and commissioning records together with the building file.
