About this model
What it is
The TH56 is the way into the capsule format on a small footprint. At 5,600 mm long it is a single module pod of 18 m², and it still delivers the thing people actually pay for in a capsule: a curved cabin wrapped in a continuous full height glass pane, so a small room feels open to the garden or the paddock rather than closed in.
How it is built
Everything a guest needs runs as standard. A 1.5 HP central reverse cycle air conditioner heats and cools, a fresh air ventilation system keeps the sealed, glassy pod fresh and dry, a smart home system with motorised curtains handles the rest, and the bathroom is complete with a vanity, water heater, shower set, smart toilet, anti fog mirror and an integrated light and exhaust fan.
There is a custom wardrobe for storage. The shell is a galvanised steel structure frame under a fluorocarbon coated aluminium alloy skin in white. Maximum power draw is 5.5 kW, or 9.5 kW with the floor heating option.
The bed is an option in this size, along with the kitchen, internal doors and stairs.
Delivery and freight
At roughly 4 tonnes it is the lightest capsule here to freight, crane and place, and one lift sets it on a prepared slab or screw piles (steel posts wound into the ground instead of pouring a slab) in a few hours, which makes it a low risk first unit for an operator testing the format and a natural pick for a compact backyard studio, a guest suite or a glass walled home office. At 3,200 mm wide it is over container width, so it ships fully built on a flat rack (an open shipping platform used for cargo too wide to fit inside a container) and needs no assembly on your block.

Quote enquiry process
How an enquiry works
A quote enquiry is not an order. Nothing is committed until you have a written quote naming the scope, the price and the delivery terms.
- 1
Tell us the block
Send the model, your suburb or postcode and what the block is like. Access, slope and crane room change the price more than anything else.
- 2

A written quote covering the unit, freight to your address, and what is and is not included.
- 3
We start your build
We lock in your design with you and then we coordinate with our builders to begin production.

Frequently asked questions
What comes in the base unit and what is extra?
The base unit includes the shell, wraparound glazing, the complete bathroom, the 1.5 HP reverse cycle air conditioner, the fresh air system, the smart home system with motorised curtains and a custom wardrobe. The bed is an option in this size, as are the kitchen fit-out, internal doors and stairs. Tell us the use and we will quote the fit-out alongside the unit.
Do I need council approval?
A secondary dwelling is assessed by your local council or a private certifier, so approval sits with them and we cannot promise an outcome. Setbacks, maximum floor area, sewer connection and parking all vary by council. Units intended to be lived in are built to order to NCC Class 1a requirements, with compliance documentation supplied, and we hand over the structural drawings and specifications for your DA or CDC application (a development application or a complying development certificate, the two council approval routes).
How is it delivered and what access do you need?
The cabin is wider than a shipping container, so it travels fully built on a flat rack and arrives by truck. A crane lifts it straight onto your prepared slab or screw piles, with no on site reassembly. Crane standing room, overhead powerlines, driveway width and ground bearing all need checking early. Send us photos of the approach and we will tell you what lift is realistic.
What foundation does it sit on?
A reinforced concrete slab is the usual answer, and screw piles work well on sloping or reactive ground where you want to avoid excavation. We supply the bolt pattern and load points so your slab or pier layout can be set out before the unit lands. Footings are designed by your engineer to suit your soil classification (the site test that grades how much your ground swells and shrinks with moisture), because that is a site specific call that has to be made locally.
Does 18 m2 feel too small to stay in?
It is a studio, so it works for one or two people rather than a family. The wraparound glazing does most of the work, because a small room with a continuous glass wall reads as much larger than the floor area suggests. If you need a separate bedroom or a lounge that is not also the bedroom, step up to one of the 9.5 m or 11.4 m capsules instead.
How does it connect to power and water?
The unit arrives pre-wired to AS/NZS 3000 with an RCM marked switchboard (AS/NZS 3000 is the Australian and New Zealand wiring standard, and the RCM mark shows electrical gear is approved for sale in Australia), and plumbed models come with hot and cold inlets and a waste outlet on the outside wall. A licensed electrician connects the power and a licensed plumber ties the waste into your sewer, an on site system approved by your council or a holding tank. Both connections must be certified by the trade doing the work.
What is the lead time?
Build time is normally around 20-30 working days from a signed order and approved drawings, then around 20-30 transit days of sea freight to an Australian port, including customs clearance and inland transport to your block. Allow a total 40-60 delivery days door to door as a working figure. We confirm real dates against factory capacity when you order, because lead times move with demand and shipping schedules.
What warranty comes with it?
Warranty terms are set out in writing with your quote and repeated in the supply agreement. The structure and the weatherproof shell are covered for a longer term than fixtures, fittings and appliances, which carry the warranties issued by their own manufacturers. Claims are handled through us rather than direct with the factory, and we keep the build documentation on file so you are not chasing an overseas supplier.
